Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone

Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone

Hey Everybody!

Welcome to Crystal’s Corner!

I am so excited to add this feature to our blog. What better way to ring in my 55th year, than to write my first article, (except for being with family, of course). I have a confession… I haven’t always been this excited. Our oldest son mentioned this idea to me a few months ago. He thought some of you might enjoy reading something from me.

Convincing Conversation

By the time we hung up from our conversation, I was on board and even excited about the idea. The next step was to convince Jeff, which didn’t take much. It still took me a while to get started. I have no idea why I am okay speaking on videos, but have trouble starting to write.

Crystal enjoys all of the fun she experiences during her travels.

Safe Start-up

Jeff first brought up the idea of a travel blog a couple of years ago. I was like, Heck yeah I’ll travel, while you write the articles.  Little did I know how much goes on behind the scenes, and little did I know how much I would contribute. I wouldn’t trade it for the world, though. In the past two years, we have been to so many fun places, seen amazing animals, and have met the sweetest people.

We love to travel and see new destinations.

Just Hanging Out

Now that you know the who and why, I’d like to fill you in on the what, as in what to expect. First of all, let me reassure you that this is and will always be a travel blog. We like the idea of mixing it up occasionally and hope you do, as well. Jeff’s articles are meant as information to aid you in creating your own itinerary, while mine will be more like chatting with a friend. I mean who doesn’t want to call (oops, I mean text) their friend when they find a cute top or the perfect bracelet to pull an outfit together? I might even tell you a secret or two, but you have to promise not to tell Jeff.

Crystal seems to find new friends around each turn.

New Friendships

We have also created some lasting relationships, because of this blog. And of course, all of you lovely friends who come back time after time to see where our latest adventure took us. We owe all the thanks to you! We wouldn’t be where we are today without all of your support. As of this date, we don’t know how often I will be featured. We do know it will be on Friday, as those are our local days, and I am after all, a local! Of course, I will be the one writing the new Weekend Edition that our subscribers will get delivered straight to their inbox. I can’t wait to start sending those your way, so be sure to subscribe for our emails.

Until next time, friends.

Crystal is always ready for her next adventure.

About the Author:

We are Jeff and Crystal, a Baby Boomer couple who love exploring this big blue marble we all call home. After spending the first portion of our lives together raising a family, the empty-nest syndrome finally caught up with us. This has given us the opportunity to spend more time traveling, and seeking out new destinations. We developed this travel blog with the goal of showing how we “Visit Like A Local”. Our itineraries are designed to get us off the interstates, and into the heart of the places we visit. We believe this will allow our readers to choose a cultural experience, and eventually head home with a real flavor of the places they visit. We hope you are enjoying our website and will consider sharing it with your friends. Please come back often, as we post new articles three times per week.

Hello, this Was my first visit and I’d have to say I enjoyed very much. I look forward to reading more and seeing where you go next. I too want to travel to see the wonders of other places outside of Wichita. Your blog will teach me a lot. Well done, keep it coming.

Shelli, glad you enjoyed your inaugural visit. We love Wichita and really need to plan a revisit to see the things we missed. Such a great part of the country.
