21st Century Delivery at Topp’d Pizza

Pizza is one of our go-to foods, because it comes with so many options. One drawback has always been the long cooking time, but Topp’d has made that a problem of the past.  We visited the KCK location at 3934 Rainbow Blvd. If you are farther south you may want to stop in their newly opened second location at 8750 Penrose Lane in Lenexa. We can only assume that they offer the same menu at both sites.Continue reading

Showing No Fear At Haunt

When we received an invitation to the Worlds of Fun 2017 RIP Party we knew we would be in for a howling good time. The party was designed to celebrate the new season of the Halloween Haunt, which is their annual Fall festival. Living in Kansas City offers a chance to experience all four seasons, but it always seems that Autumn doesn’t last nearly long enough. The change in the weather sparks thoughts of bonfires, pumpkins, colorful leaves, and of course, the haunted houses. Now I haven’t visited a haunted house for years, and Crystal has never stepped foot in one, so we both had some adrenaline rushing as we arrived.Continue reading

Here’s Looking At Zoo! The Tulsa Zoo

Some people avoid outdoor activities during the summer months, but we love to get a daily dose of Vitamin D. For our stop at the Tulsa Zoo, we knew it would be best to start early to see the most activity. We arrived at opening time, and met up with Ellen Averill for a quick golf cart tour of the place. Ellen showed us the lay of the land, and explained a lot of the background of the zoo’s rich history. (Thank you Ellen for taking the time to assist us.) With this basic information, we were ready to dive into our day.Continue reading

4 Favorites on the Amana Wine Trail

It is obvious that the Amana Colonies are a tourist destination. Why else would a town like Amana, Iowa, with a population around 500 residents, be able to support multiple wineries. Fortunately for us, this made for the perfect chance to create a walking Amana Wine Trail tour. Now it is highly possible that this will become an actual tour in the future, so if it does perhaps they will name it the “Our Changing Lives Wine Trail”. One can always hope. All of the wineries in this article are located in the main town of Amana, which also holds most of the restaurants and shops. Being within close proximity certainly adds to the charm, when doing a walking wine trail.Continue reading

Taste The Islands at Sisserou’s in Tulsa

During our cruise in the Caribbean, we discovered that their cuisine celebrates life with plenty of flavor. (You can read about it here.>) Our arrival in Tulsa was celebrated with a visit to Sisserou’s Caribbean Restaurant.  We parked in the Brady Arts District, and made our way to lunch. This area of the city is filled with many dining choices, and we would find ourselves returning a couple more times. For now, we were concentrating on this location.Continue reading
